People — whether they know it or not — have always wanted relevant ads, and that’s exactly what we started doing with BackBeat Media 5 years ago, albeit with a better model than behavioral targeting. We found that by targeting niche markets directly, one need not track the behavior of a user to deliver relevant ads. This has many benefits, not the least of which is that it completely placates the privacy advocates. Trust me, it works. Just do it, and we’ll all be happier (and spending more money!) because of it.
