In the summer of 2005, I finally realized that having an e-mail capable PDA wasn’t a hindrance… it was a way of gaining slightly more freedom (freedom being something that’s elusive to ANY business owner!).  Well, maybe freedom’s the wrong word, but flexibility certainly applies.  I used to fret over what was going on if I had to be away from the office during the day for any period of time, and now I have the Treo 650 — my lifeline back to the world — and for the most part that’s a Good Thingâ„¢.

The killer app on it is the (now Palm-owned) ChatterEmail. The best mobile IMAP implementation I’ve ever seen. I now have one inbox. If I reply to a message on my Treo and file it, when I get back to my desk that message is filed, marked as replied, and the reply is in my “Sent” folder. Beat that.
